Mark J. Balish is
President of ConsultUSA and PMCentersUSA, two value-added IT staffing
and training organizations he formed in Pittsburgh, PA, in 1997. Balish
has more than 25 years of practical experience in systems integration,
IT staffing, project management and business management of technology
projects derived from his work with Digital Equipment Corporation and XL
Connect. At DEC, Balish was responsible for technical, project and
management consulting as well as sales support, direct local sales and
business process re-engineering for a 10 year period. Following his work
at DEC, Balish served as the National Director of Desktop Outsourcing
for XL Connect. In this role, his responsibilities included program
management, pricing, contract negotiation, estimating, staffing and
sales support for more than 25 offices nationwide. One of Balish’s major
accomplishments at XL Connect was growing the outsourcing business by
$50,000,000 in his last year with the company.
Through his
experience in the industry, Balish successfully scaled ConsultUSA and
PMCentersUSA by leveraging his strengths in innovation, strategic
planning, operations, and business and employee development. Both
organizations now boast client lists including many Fortune 100 and
Fortune 500 companies and a best-in-class team of consultants and staff
nationally. For 4 consecutive years, ConsultUSA was named a Top Work
Place by its employees through a survey conducted by The Pittsburgh

A native of
Pittsburgh, Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
from the University of Pittsburgh and his Master of Business
Administration from the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz
Graduate School of Business. In 2004, Mark completed the Entrepreneurial
Fellowship Program at the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz
Graduate School of Business. Mark also completed a one year executive
forum in Entrepreneurship through Small Business Acquisition at Carnegie
Mellon’s, Tepper School of Business in 2007.
