Description
Join our innovative team for the following position: Our client located in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Java Developer. The successful candidate will collaborate with database team members, project managers, QA analysts, etc. in the development and initiation of new software programs and applications. The candidate will research, document, and implement program requirements; write, translate, and code software programs; oversee the quality assurance of program logic, data processing and error solution; and administer the diagnostic analysis of test results and deliver solutions to critical areas. Responsibilities: - Develop an awareness of programming and design alternatives - Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application development best practices - Gather statistics and prepare and write reports on the status of the programming process for discussion with management and/or team members - Create and maintain documentation related to software programs and applications - Liaise with network administrators, database developers, programmers, and other software engineers to resolve any defects in products or company systems - Direct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and application development methodology standards in support of procurement and development efforts - Interact regularly with managers, clients, vendors, and agencies to field queries and questions - Train, manage and provide guidance to junior software development staff as required Requirements: - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field - 3 + years of related work experience - Technically fluent in programming languages, with emphasis on Java and familiarity with other languages like C++, and Perl - Experience with web-based UI components, such as JSP/ASP, Javascript, ajax, struts - Experience in object oriented development tools and methodologies - Experience with application deployment in “n-tier” production environments - Proven database and operating systems experience with Oracle and Solaris - Competent and proficient understanding of platforms such as BEA WebLogic Server - Experience with agile development - Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies - Hands-on software troubleshooting experience - J2EE certification preferred Why Pittsburgh? http://www.consultusa.com/whypittsburgh.html When Hired: - ConsultUSA will invest in you by providing training to enable you to grow and diversify your skill set to keep abreast of the latest technologies - ConsultUSA will work closely with you to develop an exciting career path of your choosing, focusing on your key strengths - You will work within a dynamic team environment gaining invaluable experience - You will be a part of a growing organization focused on success and empowerment How to Apply: - For consideration, email MS Word resumes to Amanda@consultusa.com - Please include position number 5680 in the subject line when applying ConsultUSA is an Equal Opportunity Employer
